Director Roles

A Director has two primary functions. The first is to be legally and financially responsible for DoES Liverpool as an organisation, and as a team to lead in these areas. The second, is to oversee the strategic direction, financing, health and running of DoES Liverpool. In short, our job is to help DoES Liverpool thrive.

We meet once a month for a few hours, and work our way through four simple questions. What's going well? Is there anything of concern? What ongoing issues we need to pay attention to? How is our financial position? Although simple, these four questions take us through everything we need to do. Our aim isn't to push a particular agenda, but to consider all the different options, the costs and benefits to DoES Liverpool, and how we can best benefit our community and reflect what they want and need.

New Directors will be invited to attend 3 monthly meetings to ensure a good fit with the existing board before a decision is made on both sides whether to continue. If the person is to be registered on Companies House, that will happen after this period.

A DoES Liverpool director MUST:

• Have an @doesliverpool.com email address
  • This is to access Google Drive resources and allow documents to be retrieved on retirement.
• Have 24/7 hour access to the space through the possession of a DoorBot fob
• Have access to the Directors Google Drive shared folder.

A DoES Liverpool director SHOULD:

• Attend as many monthly directors meetings as possible and perform such actions as assigned.
• Be on the Directors mailing list

A DoES Liverpool director MAY:

• Be a legally bound director of the DoES Liverpool Community Interest Company
  • Although if not registered as a director then the person should be referred to as an advisor.
• Take on some or all (or none) of the Organiser roles
• Be on the Directors WhatsApp group
• Be on the emergency phone number
• Be on the Grievance Team
