Crosswords

This type of activity is an interactive variant of the pastimes found in magazines and newspapers. The objective is to fill in the crossword from the given definitions. The definitions can be textual, graphic or sonant. The programme automatically shows both the vertical and horizontal clues of the two words which cross each other where the cursor is at that moment.

The crosswords must be designed before introducing the words to be filled in, although you can always make modifications as you go along using JClic author.

When you edit a crossword activity, JClic author shows the following work environment in the tab Panel:

Panel A is where you make the activity. In each box, you insert the letter which is convenient for making up the activity. The definition separators are left undone. If the crossword doesn´t have a regular shape (e.g. rectangular), you can make the separators transparent, although when you are editing, you have to do it on top of the figure.

It is better to write this panel before going to the other.

Panel B is where you read, see or hear the definition. The entrance is the same for all the letters in the definition.
