Description Survey (SSC)

Phase I: Comparison of Electronic and Paper Description to ArchivesSpace

1. Open file on S drive
2. Find matching collection on ArchivesSpace
3. Compare notes and inventory to determine if description (for both notes and inventories) in electronic file is missing from ArchivesSpace record
4. Then check paper description in reading room and compare with both
5. If the paper file contains accession inventories that are not included in ArchivesSpace, use the accession number to check that inventory against the Word inventories in S:\LIB\Special Collections\SSMITH\SSC-ACC.
6. On spreadsheet, note any description missing from ArchivesSpace and where the description can be found

Phase II: Comparison of Remaining Paper Description to ArchivesSpace

Skipping collections checked as part of Phase I, compare paper description in reading room to ArchivesSpace description following steps 4-6 above.
